What began as a routine medical procedure for Dana Lawler, a distinguished veteran of the United States Army, has resulted in an unexpected and tragic diagnosis. Mr. Lawler is currently confronting stage four liver cancer and kidney failure. The diagnosis occurred by chance, yet the condition has progressed swiftly, necessitating hospice care.

Dana Lawler’s son, David Lawler-Brown, is undertaking significant efforts to ensure that his father’s remaining days are characterized by dignity, comfort, and love. Compounding this situation is the geographic distance. Dana resides in Montana, while his children and grandchildren reside in Washington. The multiple round trips, totaling 1,300 miles, undertaken by the family to provide support and manage end-of-life responsibilities have severely strained their financial resources, prompting them to seek assistance.

David has assumed the challenging responsibilities of cleaning, packing, and preparing Dana’s trailer, in addition to managing his father’s hospice care. Unfortunately, the trailer has suffered from years of neglect and will require disposal, thereby adding yet another financial challenge.

David has initiated a GoFundMe campaign at https://fpc-go.com/blz. The funds raised will be allocated toward medical and hospice care, travel and essential costs for family members, and end-of-life arrangements that appropriately honor Dana’s military service.
