Win Basketball games!! That is what the Great Falls Electric have done over the past six games to start their second season in the 2025 The Basketball League (TBL).

During Saturday’s TBL Pacific Northwest Division contest that featured the Electric hosting the Oregon-based Salem Capitals at Great Falls High’s Swarthout Fieldhouse, the Electric led throughout the contest picking up a 131-117 victory to move to 6-0 on the season. The Capitals, under the direction of head coach Kevin Johnson, Jr., fall to 2-4.

The Electric’s promotion on Saturday was the “Jersery Off Your Back” Night with former C.M. Russell High School standout and former NBA player, Josh Huestis in attendance with his “Josh Huestis Foundation.” The Foundation gave out 150 FREE shirts to kids (under 12) in attendance. Huestis, who also played collegiately at Stanford University and played mostly with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, also posed for photos and signed autographs as well as helped out with 50/50 for his foundation.

The Electric are 3-0 on the road with victories against the Willamette (Eugene, OR) Valley Jaguars (136-106), Vancouver (WA) Volcanoes (86-83) and Salem (OR) Capitals (107-100). The friendly confines of the Swarthout Fieldhouse (Great Falls High) have helped Great Falls produce three quality wins by downing the Wenatchee (WA) Bighorns (123-120 and 130-108) and Saturday’s 131-117 win over Salem.

So far this year, Salem picked up two home victories against the Williamette Valley (OR) Jaguars, two home setbacks to the Electric and the Vancouver (WA) Volcanoes and a road loss to the Seattle (WA) SuperHawks.

Great Falls trailed early in the first quarter but a layup by KD Moore evened the score, 10-10 with seven minutes remaining. Salem led by as many as six points (23-17) as the Capitals’ Isaiah Gentry pulled up successfully behind the arc. The Electric came bac as Billings native RayQuan Evans tied the game at 31-31 on a long distance trey with five seconds to go in the first period.

In the second quarter, Great Falls took their second lead of the contest as RayQuan Evans’ layup gave the home team a 35-34 advantage early in the quarter. The Electric’s first lead occurred in the opening minutes of the first quarter as KD Moore’s jumper put in the first points of the game. After both squad evened the contest at 59-59 with three minutes remaining, Great Falls finished the quarter on an 8-2 run.

The Electric led by as many as ten points in the third frame.

Great Falls’ offense kept attacking into the final quarter as their lead continued to grow. KD Moore ended the game with a dunk.

Four Great Falls Electric players combined to score 91 of the 131 points led by Tremont Robinson-White’s 26 points. Antwaan Cushingberry registered 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting while KD Moore scored 23 points and Lyle Hexom contributed 22 points and 13 rebound in the win. Montell McRae pulled down 12 boards.

Isaiah Gentry led the Capitals with 27 points and Mauricio Smith topped Salem with 11 rebounds.
