College basketball fans from around Montana will gather at Pacific Steel and Recycling Four Seasons Arena this week for the annual Frontier Conference Tournament.

Action begins at 1 Sunday afternoon with the women’s team from Montana Tech playing Montana State University-Northern. That game will be followed at 3 by the Carroll College women vs. University of Montana-Western.

The men take over at 5 with Western playing Rocky Mountain College, followed at 7 by Carroll vs. Northern.

The University of Providence teams earned first-round byes and won’t play until Monday. The UP women (20-7), coached by Bill Himmelberg, were runners-up at the NAIA national tournament a year ago and finished second in Frontier standings this season behind Rocky Mountain. The Argos will play the lowest-seeded remaining opponent on Monday, with Rocky facing the highest-seeded team.

The UP men (15-13), coached by JC Isakson, play Monday against the lowest remaining seed. Montana Tech is the league champion and will play Monday against the highest remaining seed.

Championship games are set for Tuesday night, with the women playing at 5 and the men at 7:30.
