One airman was killed and three airmen were injured in a vehicle accident that occurred on Malmstrom Air Force Base on June 29, 2024. Two additional first responder airmen were injured while responding to the incident.
U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Jorge Delgado, a 37-year-old airman assigned to the 341st Security Forces Squadron at Malmstrom AFB, was killed during the incident.
Two of the injured airmen are in stable condition at a local medical facility, three have been discharged.
The four airmen were traveling on-base to their duty location in an up-armored HMMWV at the time of the incident.
“Team Malmstrom and our surrounding community grieve not only the loss of an outstanding Airman, but a family member and a friend. As we help our impacted Airmen and families, I urge us all to spend a little extra time checking in on one another, wrap our arms around those in need, and provide love and support, so we can keep enduring. Wing One is committed to the safety and security of our members, and we will continue to stand strong during this time,” said Col. Dan Voorhies, 341st Missile Wing commander.
The investigation is still on-going at this time.
