UPDATE 12:20PM – The incident has calmed down. Officers will remain on scene while a search warrant is executed. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we worked to resolve the incident quickly and safely.
UPDATE 11:45AM – Nearby community members may be hearing loud noises. The officers are continuing their search of a residence, and are using common SWAT techniques, including noise distraction devices, commonly referred to as “flash bangs”. No shots have been fired.
ORIGINAL POST 11:04AM – POLICE ACTIVITY! Members of the High Risk Unit are working an incident in the 1600 block of 12th Ave S. Community members in the immediate vicinity are asked to remain inside while the incident is resolved.
We have 12th Ave S blocked off from 16th St S to 17th St S and, 16th St S and 17th St S from 11th Alley S to 12th Ave S. If you need to travel in this area, please use an alternate route, and follow instructions of first responders at the scene.
