Tax Help Montana and Great Falls Public Library Offers Tax Services

As tax time approaches, the Great Falls Library and Tax Help Montana aim to help take the confusion out of filing your returns. From January 26 through to April 15, Tax Help Montana offers free tax preparation and filing services to seniors and low to moderate income families and individuals. Tax Help Montana will be at the library for drop off/pickup on Wednesdays from 2 to 6:30 pm and will offer in-person filing help on Feb. 3, Feb. 24, March 16 and April 6 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Tax Help Montana (THM) is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program made up of a coalition of community partners led by RDI, offering free tax preparation and filing services to seniors and low-moderate income families and individuals. Tax Help Montana volunteer tax preparers are trained and IRS-certified to help ensure each client is receiving this and other tax credits for which they qualify.

You must bring all W-2 and 1099 Tax Forms, a picture ID for all taxpayers, social security cards for everyone in the family, childcare provider’s Tax ID number if necessary, charitable donation records, banking information for direct deposit, a 1095-A if you have Healthcare.gov Marketplace insurance, and last year’s tax return.
