Suspect in Great Falls Shooting Arrested in Wheatland County

GREAT FALLS, Montana – Yesterday (11/1/23), at approximately 10:50 pm, 911 dispatchers received a report that someone had been shot at a residence in the 3000 block of Lower River Rd. Officers were immediately dispatched and, upon arrival, found a 36-year-old male suffering from two gunshot wounds. Officers administered trauma medical care to the victim while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel from Great Falls Fire Rescue and Great Falls Emergency Services. The victim was transported to the Benefis Emergency Department and has since been released.

Officers were told that the suspect, a 35-year-old male associate of the victim, fled the area immediately after the shooting occurred. Officers and deputies from Cascade County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a thorough search, throughout Great Falls and the surrounding area, into the early afternoon today.

An arrest warrant, charging Assault with a Weapon (F) and carrying a $100K bond, was issued for the suspect. At approximately 1:00 pm, the suspect was arrested in Wheatland County, Montana by the Wheatland County Sheriff’s Office, after they identified him while investigating a separate incident. Wheatland County is approximately 130 miles southeast of Great Falls.
